Today we carried out an installation on a lovely property in Hamilton, We removed and replaced the aging CCTV with 3 brand new 8MP Hikvision Darkfighters complete with Acusense and a Hikvision NVR. Of course we forgot to take photos of this… doh!
We then installed a Cat6 drop from the loft and routed it discreetly down the side of the property and into the utility cupboard and added an additional four Cat6 Ethernet connections in the upstairs office.
This is our first time installing the new Wifi 6 AP’s from Ubiquity and wow these make the standard UAP look a little stuck in the past thanks to it’s ability to have any colour of LED visible. Obviously the real capability is the speed at which multiple devices can connect to these access points but for that we need some WiFi 6 hardware and our laptop doesn’t quite cut the mustard.
All of the network drops in the home are fed from a single Unifi switch in the loft with the entire network being managed by a UniFi Dream Machine Pro.
Thanks to Sarah for all her hard work in choosing the hardware, configuring and tweaking all the settings to make the whole installation as smooth as it possibly could be.
And yes.. One day we will remember to take photos of all stages and maybe even spend more than a few seconds grabbing the completion pics.
